BROKEN; chapter:1 .

Junio 16, 2008

She walked through the door without even knocking. What for?. He knows she’s the only one that enter his room without knocking and it doesn’t seem to bother him. Her lips curve into a smile everytime she remembers all the things she had discovered about him because of this bad habit of hers. There was one time when he was asleep. He was deep inside DreamLand, and suddenly he started to talk. It was something REALLY funny. And cute, too. Too cute, she thinks. There are a lot of things to remember… When he was talking to himself about dinner; When he was trying to cook (the funny thing is that he almost burned the whole house down!); When he was too concentrate on the TV show he loves and didn’t notice her standing on the door; When he wasn’t there and she waited until he came home. She had to stop herself from squealing like a silly fangirl when he did that surprise/blushing face after she welcomed him. He was buying candies, as always.

She loved him. That’s probably the reason she never knocked before entering his room. She needed to know all those things he wouldn’t tell her. She needed to know all those things she wouldn’t dare to ask him. She wanted to know everything. EVERYTHING.

He liked her, she knew. All the girls in the world can tell when somebody has a crush on them. It’s a female thing. That’s why he doesn’t get mad at her for not knocking. And is why he blushes that much in front of her. That’s too cute for her; too damn cute!. But is it weird? Is it weird that she feels this way about him? Probably, you’ll think it’s completely normal at her age and all that, but… Is it normal that she had started to feel this way about him after seeing him… touching himself?

You know what that means, don’t you?. But if you STILL want to read the whole thing, then let’s write it: He was masturbating in his room.

Eyes closed, mouth slightly opened. And he was saying HER name…

Yeah, that’s right. Two weeks ago, this “nice boy” turned into ’something else’ in front of the girl’s eyes without even knowing. Before that, she was playing dumb and acting like she didn’t understand what the nice boy was trying to tell her through his eyes, blushes and smiles. He even hold her hand once. It was fun to play with him, so she kept doing it. She never knocked the door because that way it was even MORE fun. The way his surprised face turned all red when she suddenly appeared in his room. The way he couldn’t say anything but “I… I…”. It was too much fun! And, like a fangirl, she had to stop herself from squealing at the damn too much cuteness.

Three days before ‘that’ incident, the boy did what the girl was most afraid of.

I like you.

And his voice was the only sound she could hear. The boy could see the fear on the girl’s eyes. She closed her eyes and let go of the boy’s hand. Her voice was almost a whisper.

I’m… sorry.

And then she ran out of the room, leaving the boy alone. She was scared, she didn’t want that to EVER happen. She liked him too, but she knew that everything ends in the start. All the boys are cute and nice to her when they start liking her. But when a relationship starts, it’s game over. They change, they stop being nice to her… Until they don’t care anymore. And it’s sad. Is too sad to cry about something that could have been and wasn’t. She knew. She really, really, REALLY liked the boy… That was the reason she was afraid of him saying those words. She wanted him to always smile at her… And always be nice to her. Imagining the nice boy not caring about her anymore, and being rude and mean to her was breaking her heart.

Just like her words broke the boy’s.

She couldn’t sleep well and he didn’t sleep at all. The next morning, she knocked the door.

Can I… Come in?

She couldn’t help but smile when the boy made that surprise face she loved so much. After a few second, the boy said

“Can I come in”? Are you serious?? You’ve been entering my room without knocking for almost two months and NOW you’re asking???

W-Well, I…

Who are you and what have you done to–

Ok, ok, I get it! I will NEVER knock the fucking door again, you hear? I was just trying to be nice since yesterday I…

Ran away?

… Yeah. I’m really sorry about that.

Oh, please.

He rolled his eyes. That’s what she meant… Now that he has been ‘rejected’ by her, he will no longer be nice to her ever again. The beginning of the end, that’s what it was. She didn’t let the tears came out. After a sigh, she decided to finally enter the boy’s room.

He closed the door behind them almost inmediatly.

Listen.

The boy’s voice sounded like it was trembling, and it was more like a whisper.

The fact that I had been rejected by you doesn’t mean that you can’t enter my room without knocking anymore, ok?. …In fact, it doesn’t mean anything at all!. You can do whatever the hell you want, ok?. I’m not mad at you. I’m just… a little sad, I guess– But… Not seeing you again would just make me feel even worse so, please… Whatever you do– Just— Don’t go away… Ok?.

The boy was, indeed, crying. Both of them were. The girl wasn’t looking at the boy, but she knew. She tried so hard to not cry; She hold her breath so her throat wouldn’t hurt, but even with that the boy’s words made the tears find their way through the girl’s eyes. She was feeling nervous because she knew it was her turn to talk and even so, she didn’t know what to say…

After an ackward silence, the boy dried his tears and started talking again.

I’m sorry. Saying all this shit to you— You must’ve felt really bad for me, thinking “Can you believe this loser? He’s actually crying and all! God…” or something. Heh… Yeah, I feel pity myself.

Oh, shut up!

The girl turned around to look at the boy in the eyes. Even now, she couldn’t help but feel warm inside when she saw the surprise in the boy’s teary eyes and the blush on his cheeks. His mouth slightly opened. It was… really cute.

Now she had something to say.

Don’t you dare say things like that again!! Don’t you dare put thoughts in my head, you—

The boy’s eyes widened.

Were you… CRYING?

OF COURSE I WAS!!!

Silence. The girl’s tears didn’t let her see clearly when or how, but the boy embraced her. There was something about that embrace that made the tears stop.

So the two of us were crying?

They were so close that the boy’s breath made her shiver a little. She was feeling uneasy at the lack of space between their faces so, trying not to look at him, she nodded.

Suddenly, her heart started beating faster. The boy was… laughing. Laughing like she never heard him before. Her eyes were still teary, but before she could realize it, she was laughing too. The boy was unconsciously tightening the embrance little by little ’til the girl’s voice made him stop.

You’re going to break my bones…

He broke the embrace.

…Sorry.

And before the ackward silence got them again, the girl decided to say something– Anything before it was too late.

Ice cream.

Huh?

Ice cream. You told me your dad bought some yesterday.

Ah– Right!. Wanna turn the TV on? I’ll bring some.

The smile on the boy’s face made her feel better. Even though she knew he wouldn’t be nice to her anymore.

And of course you’ll have more ice cream than me.

The girl’s eyes widened.

… Really?

Of course! “That’s the way it has to be done”, right?

… R– Right.

The girl smiled. Her teary eyes didn’t drop any tear, but she really felt like crying.
